Recently returned from a weekend staying here. Couldn’t have been happier with the service received. I had booked this hotel for a weekend away to celebrate my Husbands birthday. I contacted the hotel a week before our arrival and paid to have balloons and a cake in our room for when we arrived. We arrived early morning for check in and to our surprise the room was available for check in immediately. Our room was decorated for my husbands birthday, They had even upgraded us free of charge to a 1 bedroom apartment it was a great touch. The cake was delicious! The room was perfectly clean and had all the amenities that were needed for our weekend including a kettle, iron, hair dryer, extra pillows etc. we popped the the local store and brought some items to keep in our fridge for our stay but items can be purchased from the reception. The hotel itself is very modern and well kept. Breakfast was great had multiple options and plenty of, There was always plenty of seating space. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Our room wasn’t cleaned while we stayed but to be honest this didn’t bother us as we make our own bed on a morning and tidy up after ourselves as we would at home and when we wanted fresh towels we would just ask and these would be replaced. Would return to this hotel and recommend 100%

This hotel is on a quiet street very close to the Old Town and many of Prague’s attractions. It looks like it was recently renovated and the rooms are very nicely designed, the bed is comfortable, bathroom is modern and the shower was good… but when it comes to service and how the hotel is managed, it’s rather like a 2-star hotel: - There is NO housekeeping whatsoever… I had to complain repeatedly to reception to get someone to come in and make the bed once in a week-long stay. I was shocked to learn that in this 4-star hotel they would service the room once every 3 days (it turns out this was hidden way down in the hotel description). In reality, the staff made the bed only once on day 4 and they never showed up again. - No one came over to clean the bathroom throughout the week, dust was piling up in the room, on the floor, etc. - The bath towel is so small and quite thin that it gets soaked after barely drying half of my body, and I had to constantly switch to a second smaller towel. - The excuse that the reception staff gave me was that this is for environmental reasons… while I fully support the environment and I applaud hotels that run their properties in a sustainable way, sending someone to tidy the bed only ONCE in a week-long stay has nothing to do with sustainability, and all to do with being cheap! - I requested to speak to the Manager but apparently there was no one over the weekend to speak to, and the reception staff had no authority whatsoever to deal with the situation, or get the room cleaned, etc.… again, quite surprising of a 4-star facility! If a 4-star hotel is operating over a weekend, they should have at least one manager on-site, but that was not the case at MaMaison. - I have been in various environmentally friendly and sustainable hotels and have seen how they are run: they change bed linen and towels every 3 days; they use eco cleaning products; they use energy-efficient light bulbs, etc… AND they provide the service expected of their star-rating, like cleaning up the room daily, tidying the bed. But MaMaison does NONE of these basic services. - And while they use the environment to justify the lack of room cleaning services, they had the heat on at almost 30C across the common areas that it was unbearable to move around – I overheard several guests complaining about the extreme heating. - Worse, it was impossible to turn off the heating in the room; all I could do is turn it down to the minimum THEY have set, but that was still too hot for me, I had to open the window in the middle of December. The hot air kept pumping non-stop that I ended up coughing throughout my stay, and injured my lungs! When I asked the reception staff for help, they claimed that there is ONE setting across the hotel and there is no way to turn off the system in individual rooms. Not sure how that is consistent with the hotel’s claim for being sustainable? - Last but not least, while most 3- and 4-star hotels I stayed at provide a mini-fridge, a kettle and complementary tea and coffee in the room to allow guests a minim level of comfort AND privacy, MaMaison does not offer either. The reception staff claimed it was a “safety” issue, which is incomprehensible, given all modern appliances have auto-switch off features. Instead they directed me to come down to reception to buy coffee and tea at the bar… So again, under the disguise of sustainability and safety, the hotel is just being cheap, and is not providing basic services. While the reception staff was trying to address the problems, it was obvious that they had no authority whatsoever and no means to provide the solution that best meets basic guest expectations; they were very apologetic and recognised that the hotel had serious problems with providing the service expected of a 4-star property. I chose a 4-star hotel expecting the standard services that come with such a property; instead I got the 2-star experience for the price of a 4-star. I would have been better off at an AirBnB where I would have had access to the basics (e.g. a kettle to make my own coffee in the morning without having to dress up and go down to reception to buy a cup of coffee) and where I could have done the basic cleaning… at a fraction of the cost that MaMaison charged. Never again!

Hotel is lovely situated a ten minute walk from everything. Breakfast was great, plenty to pick from. I found the rooms and hotel to be very hot!! Even though it was cold outside it was way to hot inside!! Room lacked a kettle or small fridge, so that was a down fall for us!! Would go back and would recommend.

This hotel is located perfectly. Away from the main tourist area but only 10 -15 mins walk. The hotel is clean, shower amazing and staff are very helpful. The only downside was first night, we were rudely woken from someone looking to get into the wrong room at 1am, and last night, people above us stomped about to the early hours, elephants come to mind. We stayed in room 248, which was to the back. Breakfast was great and staff are brilliant.

I stayed here with my friends for a weekend Christmas market trip. We booked Mamaison because it was great value and when we arrived, we couldn't believe how lovely it was for such a good price. I would highly recommend staying here for couples, families, friendship groups or even solo travellers. Great location and a 5 minute walk to Wenceslas Square, good size clean rooms with nice bathrooms and great showers. Great breakfast facilities and just a fantastic stay in general. Very comfy sleep!!
